A Visit to the Zoo

 

     At the end of the last year we went to the Zoo at Dehiwala. I went with my parents and my brothers. The zoo is a large enclosure with trees, ponds, cages and various sorts of buildings. Live animals are kept in those buildings for exhibition. We bought tickets at the entrance and entered the zoo. First we visited the aquarium.🐠🐟 There were a large number of ornamental fish there. They were kept in glasses tanks. 

    Then we went to another section. There we saw apes and monkeys.🐒They provided us cinsiderable amusement. We saw children gathering in front of these cages. They watched the actions of those interesting animals.

  Our next stop was at the birds section.🦚🐦They were kept in cages. There were various kinds of parrots and other birds. Tiger, lions, bears and cheetahs were housed in different rows of strongly built cages. There were sign boards putup on the cages written the words "Dangerous animals". At about 1 p.m we had our lunch. We visited some more cages. We saw the snakes.🐍 We also saw a large python too.

        Then we saw the rhinoceros. It was in a watery cage. It was swimming. Then we heard an announcement. It was about the elephant dance.🐘 So we rushed to the place and sat down on the terraced steps. The performances of the elephants were wonderful. At about 6.00 p.m we started our return journey. ❤️😍
