How Vesak was Celebrated

     Vesak Festival falls on Vesak full moon poya day. 🙏🌕🎐It is a religious festival. It is in the month of May. Buddhist people celebrate this festival in a grand manner. In this year we celebrated this festival in our village. That day my mother and aunty observed sil in aunty's home. Because it was corona pandemic season. Me and my sister got up at early in the morning and cooked for our mother's and all. 😊🍱


      In this day we observe five precepts. In previous years we go to the temple in the morning with a bouquet of white flowers.🌺🌼🌺 But this year it did not have to go that way. We offered flowers to the Lord Buddha in home. We hoist a buddhist flag in front of our house. 🙏 In previous years there were many dansals everywhere. But this year there is no such thing. I was participated to the buddhist devotional songs as a child. We made beautiful and creative Vesak lanterns. 🎐❤️🎐 And also we lit the lamps. We listened to the dhamma sermons. 🙏 We decorated our houses very nicely. 😍❤️ we celebrated this festival peacefully. 🙏🙏🙏

Our School Sportsmeet

   Our Sportsmeet was held on 30th January. It was a memorable day for everyone one of us. 🤩 There are four houses in our school. They are Hansa, Mayura, Kokila, Lihini. For weeks before the great event, we had sports practice every evening after school. We decorated our houses artistically. ❤️😊      The sportsmeet attracted a vast crowd. There were parents, past pulis and well wishers. We were able to start the meet at the scheduled time. First the Olympic Torch was lit by the captains of the four houses.🔥 There were many events at the sportsmeet. The first few items were relays.🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️ High jump, long jump and hurdles race.      During the interval the visitors were served with shots eats and cool drinks.🥪🥤 There were some interesting items after the interval. Travel to Katharagama & Sewanagala

      This year we left for katharagama in Friday 16th April. We left home at about 4 am in the morning. We go on this trip every year with our relatives. We stopped to get our breakfast around 9 am. We prepared food from home. A friend of our uncle's joined us on this trip. We reached to the katharagama sacred area around 1 pm. 🙏🌼❤️First we worshipped at the kiriwehera and then went to the katharagama dewalaya. On the way we met various animals like Elephants and Peacocks. After all this work was done we get our lunch. That night we stayed at my uncle's friend's house. His house was located in the Sevanagala. 🏞️🌅❤️         We started the destination to their home. It was past 8.30 pm when we got there. That uncle told us that there was a suitable and beautiful place for bathing nearby. As soon as I heard that, I got ready to leave that place. But my mother scolded me.
